My Country / Mi Pais

Dear Parents,

This week we will work on the theme “Mi Pais/My Country.”

We will glue red and blue paper on a silhouette of the flag. We will also will dance to American music and see images of the country. We will walk with our feet painted on a flipchart, and we all will read a book about My Country.

It will be a beautiful week!

Soy un cientifico

Dear Parents,

During this week we will work on the theme “Soy un cientifico - I am scientist.” We will paint a rainbow, we will also paint with paper rolls.

We will walk along a curved line affixed to the floor and dress up as a scientist. We will also have many gross motor activities.

This week will be our science fair.

Song of the Week

The children in Mariquitas class enjoyed singing the song “Como funcionan las cosas”. Parents, please encourage your child to listen to this song at home too. It can be found on our Sff! CD.

“I am a Scientist”

Dear Parents,

Last week these two are working on the theme “I am a Scientist/soy un científico." We are doing our experiments for the science fair while we imitate scientists. We’ll dress-up in dramatic area and build tower with large blocks. We will also try to draw lines and circles freely with crayons. It will be a fun week and we will learn many new things.

 “Como funcionan las cosas”

Dear Parents,

Our theme this week is “How Things Work.” We’ll create machines out of boxes and make phones using plastic cups. We’ll also fill a silhouette of a robot using paper. We are also celebrating Valentine’s Day by creating cards and we capture de children hand.

This will be a very nice week. Happy Valentine’s Day!
