Blog Theme: Chu Chu Tren

Week: From 1/1/2018 to 1/5/2018

What we are learning?
Dear Parents,

We hope you all have a wonderful start to the new year. During the month of January, we will learn about a new theme called “Chu Chu Tren”. Children will explore and discover interesting facts about different means of land transportation. Through practical actions, we keep enlightening kids about how we commute or move from one place to another.

We have scheduled exciting activities related to this theme so children can continue learning through fun experiences.  Each one of these activities will help to continue strengthening skills. Some of the activities children will enjoy are: listening to story books related to the theme and enjoying puppet time.

  • In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. school will be closed on Monday, January 15th, 2018.

  • Art fair on January 16th, 2018 through January 26th, 2018.

Year-Round Activities

Student of the Week

Please make sure to sign up your child for this wonderful activity!

As you know, every week a child is given a set week that he/she are the student of the week. On Monday of their week, the student of the week should bring a poster and a book created with family pictures, favorite books, sports/hobbies, animals or anything they are interested in. Also, on their week parents and the student of the week may pick a day to present the poster and the book to the class. The student of the week may also bring favorite toys and books to school so they can share with classmates.

Friendly Reminders


  • Wash your hands and your child's hands when entering your child’s classroom.

  • Always store pacifiers in their packages.

  • Read, review and fill out your child’s journal with information for the teacher.

  • Label all your child’s clothing and items and make sure that your child has TWO extra set of clothing that is appropriate to weather in his/her cubby.

  • Make sure to remove clothing from the cubby and just leave one set of clothing and a blanket for nap time.

  • Make sure to take the blanket home on Fridays for laundry and bring it back on Monday.

  • Bring diapers, wipes and rash ointment and label them with your child’s name when requested and if needed.

  • Make sure to fill out an administration or authorization form specifying when bug spray, diaper cream, and any other ointment should be applied and be sure to supply and label the items with your child's name and place them in a Tote bag.

  • Morning snack time is at 8:45 am every day till 9:10 am.

  • Label all bottles and food or lunch box that you bring to preschool for your child with your child’s name and the date it was prepared and place in the kitchen. If any of these items require being refrigerated, please put it in the refrigerator.

  • Inform the teacher if there has been a change in your child’s feeding schedule.

  • Do not bring your child to school if the child has a fever of over 101F or any contagious conditions.

Let´s Celebrate!

What we are learning?
Dear Parents,

We hope you all have a lovely time with your loved one. This coming week it will be a shorter school week as we are coming back from Christmas break. On December 28th and 29th we will go over some fantastic themes that children enjoyed learning in the past weeks. Children will continue learning about celebrations and we will be getting ready for the New Year.

Through practical actions, we keep enlightening kids about the significance of holidays, celebration and the winter. We have scheduled exciting activities related to this theme so children can continue learning through fun experiences.  Each one of these activities will help to continue strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills. Some of the activities children will enjoy are playing tea and feeding the dolls, looking at the mirror while going up and down and to listening to their favorite Christmas stories.

Let´s Celebrate

Week: From 12/18/2017 to 12/22/2017

What we are learning?
Dear Parents,

We hope you are having a great week. This week we will continue with our theme “Let’s celebrate”. Children will explore how we celebrate the holidays with family and friends. They will also enjoy Santa Claus visit.

Through practical actions, we keep enlightening kids about the significance of holiday traditions. We have scheduled exciting activities related to this theme so children can continue learning through fun experiences.  Each one of these activities will help to continue strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills. Some of the activities children will enjoy are playing bowling, following the track of moving objects, playing with sensorial bottles, painting with their fingers, etc. It will be a fun week.

We will have our Holiday party on Thursday, December 21st! We look forward to seeing you there. The school will be closing at 2:30 pm. on December 21st.

  • Bring a book in gift wrap for your child by Friday, December 15th, 2017. This book will be given to your child by Santa on Monday, December 18th, 2017.
