Blog Theme: A World of Colors

Week: From 01/29/2018 to 02/02/2018

What we are learning?
Dear Parents,

We hope you all have a wonderful week. This week we will start a new theme called “A World of Colors”. Children will learn the primary colors and will explore the world of nature such the sun, the rain, etc. through play and flashcards.

We will also continue working on a motor and sensorial activities related to this theme so children can continue learning through fun experiences while keeping strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills. Some activities children will enjoy are as follows:

  • Sing songs related to the theme.

  • Read the monthly poem.  

  • Play with sensory bottles.

  • Listen to the sounds of nature such as rain, wind, water, birds, etc.

  • Listen to stories about nature.   

  • Walk through a tunnel.

  • Play with a parachute.

  • Paint raindrops with their fingers.

  • Roll over on the carpet.

  • Follow a path of lines with the hands.

Year-Round Activities

Student of the Week

Please make sure to sign up your child for this wonderful activity!

As you know, every week a child is given a set week that he/she are the student of the week. On Monday of their week, the student of the week should bring a poster and a book created with family pictures, favorite books, sports/hobbies, animals or anything they are interested in. Also, on their week parents and the student of the week may pick a day to present the poster and the book to the class. The student of the week may also bring favorite toys and books to school so they can share with classmates.

Friendly Reminders


  • Wash your hands and your child's hands when entering your child’s classroom.

  • Always store pacifiers in their packages.

  • Read, review and fill out your child’s journal with information for the teacher.

  • Bring diapers, wipes and rash ointment and label them with your child’s name when requested and if needed.

  • Label all your child’s clothing and items and make sure that your child has TWO extra set of clothing that is appropriate to weather in his/her cubby.

  • Make sure to remove clothing from the cubby and just leave one set of clothing and a blanket for nap time.

  • Make sure to take the blanket home on Fridays for laundry and bring it back on Monday.

  • Make sure to fill out an administration or authorization form specifying when bug spray, diaper cream, and any other ointment should be applied and be sure to supply and label the items with your child's name and place them in a Tote bag.

  • Morning snack time is at 8:45 am every day till 9:10 am.

  • Label all bottles and food or lunch box that you bring to preschool for your child with your child’s name and the date it was prepared and place in the kitchen. If any of these items require being refrigerated, please put it in the refrigerator.

  • Inform the teacher if there has been a change in your child’s feeding schedule.

  • Do not bring your child to school if the child has a fever of over 101F or any contagious conditions.

Week: From 01/22/2018 to 01/26/2018

What we are learning?
Dear Parents,

We hope you all have a wonderful week. This week we will continue learning about our theme called “Chu Chu Tren”. Children will continue exploring and discovering interesting facts about different means of transportation through playing and observation. Through practical actions, we keep enlightening kids about how we move from one place to another.

We will also continue working on the motor and sensorial activities related to this theme so children can continue learning through fun experiences while keeping strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills.

  • Children will roll balls around the classroom and crawl after them.

  • Children will build towers with blocks.  

  • Children will follow the lines on the floor.  

  • Children will play with the train while singing there goes the machine song.  

  • Children will look at pictures of our families.

What we are learning?
Dear Parents,

We hope you all have a wonderful week. This week we will continue learning about our theme called “Chu Chu Tren”. Children will continue exploring and discovering interesting facts about different means of transportation through playing and observation. Through practical actions we keep enlightening kids about how we move from one place to another.

We will also continue working on motor and sensorial activities related to this theme so children can continue learning through fun experiences while keeping strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills.

  • Children will try to look for objects or toys that are hidden.

  • Children will play bowling.   

  • Children will play silly putty with play dough.

  • Children will read books related to this theme.  

  • Children will throw objects to a determined location.
