What we are learning?

Dear Parents,

We hope you are having a beautiful week. This month our theme is “annual review”. This coming week we will review everything we have learnt through the school year, particularly the areas that require improvements.

We have scheduled learning activities related to this theme to continue strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills so children can continue learning through experiences. Children will grasp every object they can once they are placed on top of a table, play with cars in the playground, play with play dough and form different shapes and enjoy puppet time.

Holidays & Upcoming Events
 
·         Memorial Day on May 29^th, 2017.  Sff! will be closed in observance of the holiday.
·         Report cards are sent home on May 30^th, 2017.
·         Parent-Teacher conferences will take place from June 5th to June 9th. 
·         Father’s Day celebration on June 14th. 
·         Last day of School year on June 16th. Early Release will be at 12:30 pm.

Friendly Reminders

·         Wash your hands and your child hands when entering your child’s classroom.
·         Always store pacifiers in their packages.
·         Read, review and fill out your child’s journal with information for the teacher.
·         Label all your child’s clothing and items and make sure that your child has TWO extra set of clothing that is appropriate to weather in his/her cubby.
·         Make sure to remove clothing from the cubby and just leave one set of clothing and a blanket for nap time.
·         Make sure to take the blanket home on Fridays for laundry and bring it back on Monday.
·         Bring diapers, wipes and rash ointment and label them with your child’s name when requested and if needed.
·         Make sure to fill out an administration or authorization form specifying when bug spray, diaper cream and any other ointment should be applied and be sure to supply and label the items with your child's name and place them in a Ziploc bag.
·         Morning snack time is at 8:45 am every day till 9:10 am.
·         Label all bottles and food that you bring to preschool for your child with your child’s name and the date it was prepared.
·         Inform the teacher if there has been a change in your child’s feeding schedule.
·         Do not bring your child to school if the child has a fever of over 101F or any contagious conditions.
·         Apply sunscreen to your child every morning.
·         Make sure to keep in your child’s cubby a pair of glasses and a summer hat.
·         Sunscreen and mosquito repellant are important to protect your child because he/she is very susceptible to sunburn/mosquito bites. Yet applying sunscreen and mosquito repellent to your child requires planning. If sunscreen and mosquito repellent must be applied to your child, make sure to fill out an administration or authorization form specifying when sunscreen and mosquito repellant should be applied and be sure to supply the sunscreen and mosquito repellant, label the bottles with your child's name and place them in a Ziploc bag.

We have scheduled learning activities related to this theme to continue strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills:
·         Making sounds of different animals.  
·         Playing with cars in the park.

We have scheduled learning activities related to this theme to continue strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills. We will look at flashcards of animals and they explore to play with stuffed animals. Children will participate in fun activities such as playing with a sensorial box or legos, making sounds of different animals, feeding baby dolls and enjoying bubble time, etc.

Animal Kingdom

Weekly Feature Theme: Birds and Marine Animals
Week: May 8^th to May 12^th, 2017

We hope you are having a beautiful week. We want to thank you for all the love received last week. This month our theme is “The Animal Kingdom”. This coming week we will learn everything about birds and marine animals. Children will learn how birds build nests and everything about the breeding cycle. They will also discover interesting facts about marine animals.
We have scheduled learning activities related to this theme to continue strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills such as:
·         Doing scribbles.
·         Looking at flashcards about animals.
·         Removing and putting objects inside a container.
·         Flying planes.
·         Participating in dramatic plays.

Week: May 1^st to May 5^th, 2017

We hope you are having a beautiful week. This month our theme is “The Animal Kingdom”. This coming week we will learn everything about domestic (including farm animals) and wild animals. Children will explore and discover interesting facts as well as learn how to respect and care for them. 
We have scheduled learning activities related to this theme to continue strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills such as:

·         Imitating sounds of animals.
·         Drawing strokes on paper.
·         Jumping by being on the same place.
·         Singing songs about animals.
·         Playing with playdough.
·         Doing bicycles with our legs.
