🔠 What are we learning?

Dear Mariquitas Parents,

This week we will learn about our community and the environment where we live as well as public and private institutions of our city. Children will discover the roles and characteristics of our community servants and will learn to respect and admire the job they do.

We have scheduled many fun learning activities to strengthen gross and fine motor skills, cognitive and language and socio-emotional skills related to this theme:

·         Perform a dramatic Play as a cook.

·         Review flashcards of community servants.

·         Color a firefighter drawing.

·         Color a cook drawing.

●      Wear shoe covers and wash your hands and your child hands when entering your child’s classroom.

●      Knock before entering the classroom to make sure there is no one behind the door

●      Wash your hands and your child’s hands once you enter the classroom.

●      Always make sure that your child has extra set of clothing that is appropriate to weather in his/her cubby and label it with your child’s name

●      Bring diapers, wipes and rash ointment and label them with your child’s name.

●      Bring your child’s bottles labeled with your child’s name and date.

●      Read, review and fill out your child’s journal with information for the teacher and make sure to add last change of diaper and time of your child’s last meal.

●      Fill out information in the journal.

We hope you had an excellent weekend enjoying family time. This week we will continue learning about family. We have scheduled several fun activities to continue strengthening motor, emotional and cognitive skills such as:

·         Playing with sensory bottles.

·         Playing in the park and sliding through the wheels.

·         Crawling through the tunnel.

·         Working with flashcards about the weekly theme “My Family”.

·         Looking ourselves in the mirror.
